Houston, TX – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher to represent Texas’ Seventh Congressional District, and also announced that it is awarding her the Advocate for American Business Award. The Chamber endorses pro-business candidates for federal office who will vigorously support public policy that will advance economic growth, support jobs, and promote fiscal responsibility. The Advocate for American Business Award, formerly known as the Spirit of Enterprise Award, is awarded to candidates who support pro-growth, pro-business policies and bipartisanship.
“Houston is a city of innovation and partnership, and our businesses and the people who work there are drivers of our vision and our values,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “I am proud to take that spirit of collaboration and partnership to Washington, and proud to earn the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Advocate for American Business Award and its endorsement for re-election because of that work. During these challenging times, I have worked to support our businesses – from restaurants to refineries–and the people who work there. And I will continue to advocate for smart policies that help create jobs and strengthen our economy.”
“As a life-time resident of Houston and Congressional District 7, Representative Lizzie Fletcher understands the challenges facing Texas’ families and workforce,” said Monique Thierry, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice President, SW-South Central Regional Office. “Rep. Fletcher’s support of pro-growth policies and free enterprise solutions is what has earned her the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber. We are proud to support Congressman Lizzie Fletcher in her re-election.”
